When Lad was probably a month or two old, we used the Halo sleep sack and it was a magical gift from the Heavens. It worked wonderfully until he developed his super baby strength and could bust out of the velcro arm straps. After that, we wrapped the straps around his belly like the directions told us to do…aaand then he learned how to roll over. So we weren’t too crazy about the idea of him being swaddled anymore.
We moved him to his crib at five months and he was doing great! Until recently. When the six month sleep regression hit.
We don’t like it.
At this point, Lad will fall asleep usually around 7 or 8 every night. He is all cuddly and having sweet dreams until around 11:00 or so. After that we are up every 1 or 2 hours until morning time. So things are going really great.
OBVIOUSLY we’ve been consulting Google about this – as all good parents do – to see if there is ANYTHING we can do to get even 5 or 6 hours of sleep; these patterns are very conducive to wrinkles and I’m not a fan.
So tell me, fellow sleep-deprived parents. Is there anything we can do? Do we just have to wait it out?
Amazon has these two sleepers for babies:
Halo but with holes for the feet, and this Magic Sleep Suit – which I’m positive would make Lad look absolutely hilarious. Anybody out there have experience with either one of these?
PLEASE let us know. We just need a night or two of sleep every now and then, that’s all. It’s definitely because of his sleep situation and not because he’s hungry, because he’ll go back to sleep if we hold him and rock with him on the recliner. He MIGHT be spoiled. Just a cuddly little ole’ babe.
Next week I’ve got some info coming about the whole breast milk / formula situation. Just some of our future plans. And more questions for the public. We ordered some to have on hand in-case we need to start supplementing, but as my luck would have it, every single little word on the box is in German. So that’s super fantastic, considering everyone in this household speaks English. Reese always claims he’s a pure bred so I told him to read up.
