Here’s a minimal mama approach to hittin’ the beach and pool! With little ones it’s easy to go overboard and pack ALL the things, (trust me). I want to be prepared, but don’t want to end up hauling everything from our house to the water and back. Ya feel me?
I rounded up my favorite summer essentials for the beach and pool days just for you!

Wellness Things:
PLAY Mineral Sunscreen from Tubby Todd: this little sunscreen stick is a lifesaver for getting a good layer of protection on wiggly babies! It’s natural, perfect for sensitive skin, and not greasy.
Hyland’s Ear Relief drops: perfect for after a long day in the water to help relieve any ear pain! Peace of mind knowing these are in our bag.

After Sun Cooling Spray: this is a MUST!! Get the DIY recipe here and it’ll soothe and tame any sunburn instantly.
For the Beach:
Pop up tent: this is a little bit bougie and extra, but it’s SO WORTH IT. Especially when you have a little one to keep out of the sun at the beach! You won’t regret it. It folds up so small and it’s easily portable.

Sand Baking Set from Melissa & Doug: both boys are in LOVE with this set! It helps spark their imagination and they adore digging in the sand with it. It’s super sturdy.
This sifting funnel is also perfect to help their imaginations soar at the beach!
Beach OR Pool Must Haves:
Folding Wagon: My mind almost exploded when I realized how magical it is to own a wagon. It’s always there for me to help haul our stuff from the car to the beach or pool. This one is similar to what we have and love!
Reusable swim diaper: You want one with snaps, trust me. They’re super easy to incorporate with a cloth diapering routine and hold in messes WAY BETTER than disposable swim diapers. The disposable ones seem to swell and fall apart really fast in my experience. AKA really embarrassing at the splash pad to have the kid with a disintegrating diaper.
Long sleeve rash guard: I know this seems counterintuitive to put a long sleeve shirt on a sweaty little kid, but if you find one with SPF built… in it’s a miracle worker. Once they get in the water it’s actually cooling for them! Jep loves his most out of both boys.
It’s all in the bag!
What are some of your summer bag essentials? We’re soaking in every moment of sunshine we can! I’m also trying to keep it simple and cut back on stuff everywhere. Hard, but worth it!
Let me know in the comments if you’d add anything else! If we aren’t already Insta fam, head on over and give me a follow and say hi.
