You think you love your baby. And then he sleeps through the night for the first time and you REALLY love him.
Folks. We are officially three months old tomorrow (WUT?!), and this is the first time all three of us have slept through the night. I never thought I’d know anything this beautiful. (Well – we both still got up several times to make sure he was breathing because we couldn’t believe this was real life, but we’re still counting this whole situation as sleeping through the night.) Between crying and feeding and pumping, I started to consider sleep a long lost friend that would maybe come back in 25-30 years. But then this magical gift came along.
See how happy this baby is? That’s how we all feel right about now. And it takes a lot for Reese Goebel to be happy at 5:30 a.m.; usually there has to be camouflage and a deer stand involved.
This was seriously the best $14.99 I’ve ever spent at Wal-Mart and I plan on going back and getting another one for emergencies. It’s like a swaddle, but less swaddl-y. It may be the lack of skill that Reese and I have, but Laddy is really not a big fan of the whole confinement situation in a tight swaddle. Can’t blame him.
Our friends Mollie and Cole used sleep sacks for their twins, so after waking up at 12, 1, 2 and 3 every morning, we were ready to try ANYTHING. And if something worked for two babies then it has to work for one, right?
It was maaaaaaagic!!
Ch ch ch cheeeck it out.
If you follow this Amazon link, you’ll notice it has a billion five-star reviews from desperate, sleep-deprived mothers like myself.
While we’re on the topic of sleep, we thought we would try Lad in his own room the other night.
Wood floors are hard. And how do I know that you ask? Because I slept on ours. #separationanxiety
He did perfectly fine with the exception of his normal wake-ups, but last night when it was time to put him down we decided he’s not ready to be a big boy yet. Well, we aren’t ready for him to be a big boy yet. 😉 So it’s back to the three roommate situation. Hehe.
Until next time..
