**Sorry if there are a billion spelling and grammar errors this morning. I currently have only 25% of a working brain.
Lad is officially THREE weeks old today! Not sure how the days have flown by so quickly. They say the days are long and the years are short (or something like that), but actually the days and hours and years and all that jazz all go really quickly. Now – feedings. Those are long. I’d say a breast feeding minute is equivalent to a treadmill minute. But we’re hanging in there!
We’ve all learned a lot in the past 21 days. Most of these lessons have involved high-flying pee; it’s rather impressive. In fact, I could probably title this blog post “Chronicles of Lad Peeing on his Mom”. [In fact, I probably will. Because I’m sleep deprived and don’t have it in me to come up with a different title.] There’s never a day where he air-pees just once; it generally happens a few times in one changing. I keep a little parfait dish thing next to his changing area and use it as somewhat of a “roof” to keep liquids from shooting up. (They actually make these things called “Pee-Pee Tee-Pee’s, but I didn’t get any because for some reason I didn’t think this would be such an issue. I was used to changing my nieces and they never did this to me.)
Anyways, he fired off yesterday and Reese and I both hit the deck. I grabbed the parfait dish and blocked it a little bit but he had still peed all over the floor and himself. We thought we were in the clear and as soon as we got up he fired at us again. This time I grabbed the dish and just caught the pee in the downstream. He’s like our own little fountain! We should keep a penny dish around and start making wishes. (That literally may be the best idea I’ve ever had.)
Oh, and I realize this is incredibly dumb now, but my sleep deprived self thought it would be a good idea to let him just “air out”. The couch will never be the same. We’re all learning here. 😉
Along with all this excitement, Lad officially became a Real Estate Baby yesterday! I’m so thankful to have this job – he can just cart along to showings or I can drop him off at a set of grandparents and hit the road! If I had a job that required me to go back to a desk from 8-5 in a few weeks I would 1000% be a crying mess right now. But since that’s not the case I was eager to get started again. This sounds ridiculous, but I was trying too hard to make myself “relax” after Lad was born. And that made me depressed. Because my brain needs to do things. So we’re back at it! He is very opinionated about the housing market.
Lad also had his first trip to Wal-Mart this week! BARF. I hate that place but it was an emergency. I will say that the baby aisle is very impressive though. Usually this town has the crap-version of things, but Lad and I will both give 1 thumb up. (I refuse to ever give Wal-Mart 2 thumbs.)
That’s all I have in me for now. There are still millions of words in my head, but we’ll save those for future blog posts!
