I’m going to start this off with something I learned today. APPARENTLY you can order and ship a ROOSTER via USPS express mail. Really.
I was in the post office this afternoon shipping more of my personal belongings that I had sold on Poshmark (holler!), and while I was waiting in line there was a legit rooster cock-a-doodle-doing in the back. The exasperated counter person (can I just add in that I always have such a pleasant experience when I ship things! I’ve never met a postal worker I didn’t like.) blew her bangs back and was all “IT’S BEEN LIKE THIS FOR AN HOUR”.
And everyone in line was all “WHY IS THERE A ROOSTER IN THE BRENHAM POST OFFICE.”
And she was all “You can ship anything! Roosters, doves, grasshoppers…”
So you’re welcome for that. The next time you decide you want to grow your own birds or release doves at your beautifully-romantic wedding ceremony or order crickets for your pet snake or something, just hop on over to the USPS!
On to the next thing: Product Review.
BISSELL PowerLifter PowerBrush Upright Deep Cleaner, 1622
I enter the above in large text because it is worthy.
For those of you that know me, you’re aware that I am a early-morning-chore-doer. I wake up, have my three-course breakfast, drink my coffee and get tuh work. Anyways. I decided this morning to use my Mom’s steam cleaner on my (once beautiful) tan tweed couches. Over the last few years they have been the victims of dirty pets, ketchup spills and life in general. I wanted to bring them back to their former glory days and this seemed like my only plausible option. So I began.
I loaded up the cleaner pod with the specified cleaner juice and water, and began. It was SO EASY. And to the OCD person…you get to make straight lines with the scrubber brush and go back over them and it is soooo satisfying! It worked like a dang magic trick! Now my couches smell like a fresh load of laundry AND look brand spankin new (Except for the slump on the right side where my large-bootied kittycat likes to hang out. But that’s besides the point.)
And then an idea from the Heavens hit me: OLIVE GOEBEL’S BED. For those of you who don’t know, Olive is an English Bulldog. She is the most adorable, sweetest thing out there but if I’m being perfectly honest, she has some pretty bad seepage going on in the back. I know, it’s not her fault. And if Reese would “express” her anal gland like so many have suggested, then perhaps she wouldn’t have this unfortunate baggage. But I digress.
Back to my steam cleaner. Olive’s bed has seen better days. It has a few stains here and there and if any machine could tackle it, I knew it would be THE BISSEL. So I began the job. I’m not lying – that thing looks brand new! I’m really disappointed in myself for not taking before and after pictures, because it really would have driven the ball home, but you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Now for the House.
I’ve recently listed a new house in Brenham! It’s a 3/2 house on S. Day Street so obvy a great location. Wood floors, charm, garage, fenced-in backyard…what more could a person want??
I won’t go into too much detail, I’ll just say that YOU SHOULD BUY IT! It really is a great home for first-timers and young couples. Check it out here!
I’m pretty well out of things to say. I only had one cup o’ joe this morning and it’s almost 5:00 so I’m at my slump.
Until next time dear friends…
